Creative Content for Interior Designers

These special people, you know, the interior designers that have homes and create homes that are magazine worthy, they need content too. Typically they can get away with just showing their creations but there is so much more to designers than the final product.

The amount of work that goes into each and every design is extremely detailed and time consuming. When someone is looking to invest in an interior designer, they want to see more than the final product, they want to see the process and know this person or team can understand their specific goals and unique situations. So how do we capture that during a brand photo shoot?

EDUCATION: Start with what you do to continue educating your team, with a photo like the one above, you can talk about the latest design trend, or the last seminar you attended and what you learned.

Problems you solve: These images can be used to discuss how you and your team work together, who the client can expect to see at their first meeting, or how many meetings until you get to the final product? All the things that new clients want to know paired with beautiful imagery that captures their attention and shows off your personality.

Materials: These can be used in so many ways during a session! The designer and the photographer can display them for flat lays and capture images like this one so the designer can discuss where you source your materials from and what works together and what might not.

Showcase your specialty: Some designers hand off the plans and move on the next project. Others, are there through every step of the way. If this is you, show that to your client! Being the liaison between the client and the contractor team is a huge benefit for them! Imagery from a job site visit is the best way to capture this part of your process and the relationship.

These are just a few ideas that are outside the scope of a final product session for interior designers. I’m always looking for more ways for entrepreneurs to creatively feed that content monster with custom brand imagery!
